Yes, Fitbit… We broke up publicly on Twitter in July: https://twitter.com/seanfenlon/status/616336804871057408

Apple Watch was the other device.

Now I’m looking to unsubscribe from your $50/yr Premium Subscription, but you’re warning me to Export my data first.

OK. Very noble. Thank you…

But now I’m trying to reconcile this:

Export your data

Your data belongs to you! Download Fitbit data as an XLS file (Microsoft Excel) or CSV, which can be opened by many paid, free or shareware applications.

With this:

You can [only] export up to 30-days of data

Hmmm… I’ve been a Fitbit Premium Subscriber for 36+ months. That would mean 36+ Custom Date settings and 36+ downloads of 36+ files for me. :-S

There’s no way I can believe that this 30-day window limit is merely a limitation of your technology… I’m forced to believe that you’re intentionally adding friction to the process in the hopes that the fewest numbers of users actually takes you up on your claim and your offer to export data.

I’m thankful for Abovo42 for this discussion – I don’t know how I could present all of this 140-characters at a time. :-S
